2 good ski resorts for beginners that I know are in Italy.  Its the lift pass that costs the money so look for a small ski resort with plenty of beginner slopes and blue runs.  One is called Passo Tonale and the other is called Bardonecchia.  Both are small resorts and very beginner friendly.  If you go to a top ski resort you will pay a lot for the lift pass so no point if your a beginner to intermediate.  Its a bit like booking a world cruise and only doing the Europe part of it.  In other words your paying a lot for a lift pass that your not going to use much of.  Also because its Italy everything is a lot cheaper while you are there ie drinks and lunch etc.  Have a look at them.  I’ve been there and they are both fantastic for beginners or intermediates.  Also check out the Livetoski.co website
